Knowing who your future life
partner is looks like a piece of cake in the eyes of many. But as simple as it
looks it has caused many to make a choice they are still regretting today. Many
people have gone into marriages with the wrong notions; they went into marriage
with fantasies of how great marriage could be only to discover a short while
into their marriage that all that glitters is not always gold. On the other
hand, many are afraid to go into marriage because of the fear of the unknown.
However, whatever you may feel in the beginning may have little or nothing to
do with the real thing.
Going into marriage requires
maturity in your perception of things, your spiritual life as well as your
emotions. Your going into marriage may not necessarily mean your maturity in
age for old age does not necessarily mean that you are emotionally and
spiritually matured. A twenty year old person could be wiser than a seventy
year old person. Depending on experience and knowledge.
It is important that any body
going into marriage must have the basic knowledge of what he or she is going
into. You must understand the basic qualities that are required of your future
spouse.
Before going into marriage with
anybody, look at the person’s heart and not at the body features. Body features
could be deceptive. I know so many men who got married to their wife simply
because she is beautiful, only for them to start regretting in the later date
of their marriage, when the woman started showing who she really is. Appearance
could be deceptive only look at the heart.
If you have somebody you want to
marry and you discover certain of her character which you think you dislike,
don’t have the assumption that you can change anybody in the future, nobody
have the power to change anybody, if you are believing you can change that
person, you are deceiving yourself. Either makeup your mind to get use to the
nature or you quit now that it is early.
Don’t get emotional in your
decision to marry a person, if you don’t feel like it, quit and save yourself
of some future heart ache.
Don’t allow anybody to force
somebody on you especially your parents, most parents like to impose somebody
on their children because they want to maintain a kind of relationship which is
only to their benefit, undermining the happiness of their children. This
imposition must not be accepted especially when you don’t feel anything for the
person being forced on you
Marry somebody you can trust,
somebody who can stand by you come rain come shine, somebody who will not
abandon you when the chips are down. You can know this quality if you look and
listen carefully.
Finally, marry somebody who can
shares the same dream and passion like you do, somebody who can see things
exactly the way you see them and support you always.
